That was a crazy night!

I've been up for almost 24 hours and I feel it. Let's review......

The kids and I went rollerskating with the homeschoolers around lunch time. It was Mitchell & Mallory's first time rollerskating and they didn't really care for it at first. Thankfully they quickly found their balance, so it was more fun for them. Mallory even "tried" dancing while skating. She calls over to me "mommy watch me dance and skate!". I look to see her shrugging her shoulders while she skates. lol

After that I needed to run my the grocery store to pick up a couple bottles of wine and something to cook for Cub Scouts. I ended up with a yummy Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, a Port, whole wheat crackers & sharp cheddar to take to the wine tasting. For the Scouts I chose something simple, Beans & weenies. I didn't have the luxury of tons of time so that worked out great. As soon as I unloaded the groceries I went to work fixing the beans. I got them done in plenty of time for the diner, so Michael & the kids headed up toward the dinner. I had to rush to change my clothes and print out info about the wines I selected before I was able to leave.

The wine tasting party was so much fun. Maybe I had a little too much fun. lol When you get 20 women together with just as many bottles of wine, you end up with a lot of eating, talking & giggling. I waited around talking with some of the moms once we were finished in hopes that my buzz would wear off. I didn't completely sober up but once I was almost back to normal, I headed home.

As soon as I was through the door Michael filled me in on the Scout meeting. He even showed me the video he had taken. Mitchell was so cute (& full of himself) in the tiny skit his den put on. I decided to get a jump on my snack for scrapbooking before slipping into bed. Well, right when I had almost finished I cut a big slice into my finger with the lid to a can that was in the trash. I had been trying to smash the trash down to make room for more when it happened. It hurt a little at the time but nothing too bad. I rinsed off in the sink and that's when I saw how deep it was. Blood was pouring out while I used a towel to put pressure on it. I wasn't sure if it was stitches worthy so I ended up spending several hours hanging out in the ER waiting to have it looked at.

It's hard to believe that the people that work in the ER ever feel the need to move quickly based on the way they shuffled around while I was there. It was like they were all zombies. They had no sense of urgency. I know that my condition wasn't life threatening but I'm pretty sure that I could have been in and out of there in 30 minutes had anyone wanted to help me. Don't get me wrong, they were all super friendly. I just don't understand why they didn't put more effort in to get me out of there. I'm sure they could have used my bed for someone else.
