Well, the turkey is gone and the extended family have already returned home. It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is over. Wow. Another year has flown by at the speed of light. This year mom hosted a lot less family for dinner, so it was very peaceful (well, except for the political conversation that got heated after dinner). Once everyone had left, my sister and I slipped over to our grandmother's house to see our aunt and cousin that were in. It's been years since we've seen them. We drank some beer, corn cob wine (don't ask) and got caught up on all the gossip. lol
In less than a month we will be exchanging gifts & eating our Christmas ham. Man, I need to get busy. I have only purchased a couple things so far and I haven't even put up the tree. This four day weekend was a blur of Thanksgiving prep and the restfulness of completing one more thing off my "To Do" list. After making it back home on Friday, I just had to veg out for a few days. I honestly felt that run down. It just seems to be a cycle I get into. I run myself to death getting very little sleep for days before an event and then crash for a couple days afterward.
I suppose I will dig the tree out one day this week. It's buried under a year's worth of stuff in the garage because I have the nasty habit of stacking things in the quickest, easiest place when I put them away. Saving time at the moment only to cost me time later when I have to get something out later. *sigh* Man, I wish I had a husband (or wife ) that enjoyed setting up for Christmas. Then this wouldn't seem like such an overwhelming task each year. I LOVE to have a decorated home but dread doing it because it's just more work for ME. If it weren't for the fact that I want my kids to have good memories of Christmas, I wouldn't even bother.
