Mitchell is officially a Webelo Cub Scout now! He actually received his patch at the Pinewood Derby back in March but the official cross over celebration/picnic was this past Saturday. He had to eat Bear "heart" (actually jello), get his new neckerchief, and ring the Pack bell in celebration of his achievement. He was beaming. After the cross over we had a picnic with the Pack and once the kids were finished eating they climbed trees, played volleyball, Frisbee and football nearby.

I mentioned the Pinewood Derby earlier in this post and want to fill in a little info about it. This was our first year doing it. Last year daddy never got around to it because work was so busy & the stress of his old job. Mitchell drew a design and did most of the detail work (including picking out the stickers). The name of the car was Dragonfire. Out six heats, he had one first place, two second place, two third place and one fifth place finish. Best time 190.4 mph. Unfortunately that wasn't fast enough for a trophy. He had fun a lot of fun though.
