All weekend through today (Monday), we have had temps in the 80's. It has been heavenly. My motivation is back in full force. Every March this happens. I spring to life again. I don't realize what a funk I get into in the winter until my burst of energy in March. I truly am a girl of the summer. Warmth & sunlight fuel me.
*sigh*
Ok let me recap this beautiful weekend.
Saturday.
We had Emma's rollerskating birthday party at 1pm. We all had fun. Michael & I even rented skates so we could join the kids in the rink. Mallory wasn't super interested in skating, she just wanted to stay in the play area on the jungle gym. I had to force her to go around the rink twice. Mitchell thinks he is an awesome skater, so he ended up skating most of the party.
Later that night I headed over to a friends house to help her paint, since her hubby was being an ass by not helping. That was fun. We ate junk & drank Sangria in between projects.
Sunday.
I forced the kids to play outside for a little while while I spent time cleaning and organizing. I have one beautiful closet to show for my efforts. lol I did a few other small tasks before getting started cooking the green beans for a cookout. A friend of mine just purchased a smoker and was testing out tons of meat recipes. How could I resist. It was delicious. I even tried a Bacon Fattie for the first time. 8000 calories of heart stopping goodness, if you were brave enough to eat the entire thing. lol I just had a slice. It was yummy.
Today.
Unfortunately today was Monday, so it was a preschool day & Michael had to go to work.
Mitchell started his first week of Bocce Ball at the Parks & Rec. Dept. I think he liked it but it didn't really keep the kids interested for the entire hour. Mitchell had a difficult time because another boy is crazy about his best friend. Mitchell was in tears and was begging to go home. I made him stay in hopes that the kids would work it out. I don't think they ever quite "clicked" even though they did end up hanging around with each other some before we left. I'm really wondering how this is going to work for the next few weeks.
Despite all the yuckiness of it being a Monday, today was also another lovely day. My motivation to spring clean was still in full force. I organized some of the garage and put away a ton of stuff that I have putting off for.........well, let's just say "A LONG time". lol
I don't look forward to winter passing back through here in a couple days. Friday is suppose to be rainy with highs in the 40's. The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that warm weather will be here for good soon. Yay!
