Today we witness history in the making. I'm becoming such a nerd about the history of our country. I did not vote for this president and I don't believe that he'll have some super human ability to save us. He is human. He will make mistakes. He will ride the natural progression back into the positive. Today we witness another president take the oath of office. How cool is that?
This year is the first year that Mitchell has really started learning about our country and it's workings. He went with me to vote and even voted in a special kids area they had set up. We explored Washington DC and marveled at so many of our country's treasures. We were inches away from our Declaration of Independence. So close to history. So close to our fore fathers. I'm so proud that my enthuseasism for American History is also living within Mitchell. It was so evident today when I mentioned to him that today we would swear in a new president. He not only begged to watch it (fighting with Mallory between watching the Inauguration or Oswald) but he asked me to DVR it --just in case he missed a minute. lol
