Shopping, shopping, shopping.....

If you would have seen the way I spent money today, you would swear that I didn't have a care in the world about Michael's upcoming job change. However, if you know me then you'd know that retail therapy helps to calm me.

Today it all started with a hair cut at a local Salon & Spa. It's been a couple months since I have had it cut so I was well overdue for a style. Shawn was my stylist. He was a very cool looking part-time actor wearing stylish glasses, a newsboy hat, & tattoos on both arms up to his elbows. He helped guide me towards cutting a couple inches off & adding more layers. I really like how it turned out. Very cute! Anyway, back to my spending spree. I added a some Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam with my cut because I "needed" it.

Next, it was on to Sephora for Bare Minerals Mineral Veil, clear mascara, nail polish, & skin care. Since I'm a member of their special club I got a free birthday gift with my purchase. A three pack of lip gloss. Yay!
free gift

On to Belk for a wedding gift for Michael's cousin. After going back and forth through their wedding registry, I decided on a couple pieces of Fiesta ware and a bright blue tea kettle. I love that they have free gift wrapping with a purchase off a registry. The associate that did the wrapping was a perfectionist! My package looks like a million bucks. Of course, on the down side, that perfection and free wrapping ended up taking at least 20-30 more minutes of my time.

I grabbed lunch and headed home long enough for everyone to eat. While eating I got a reminder call from the dealership that services my van reminding me that I needed an oil change and an inspection. Great! So we dropped off the van and headed to a nearby mall to look at dress shirts & suits for Michael.

Once at the mall, we went straight to JCPenny because Michael likes their shirts. It turns out that they changed the design of the shirts he likes. Let me tell you that he wasn't digging the changes. The variety of suits and lack of customer there encouraged us to keep looking elsewhere. Now, Dillards turned out to be the place for us. Michael found three dress shirts with in minutes! The suits weren't what he was looking for so we just gave up on finding one of those today.

At this time, I hear from the dealership about my van. CRAP. I need new brakes (almost $200) & some sort of belt (one hundred and twenty-four freakin' dollars! WTF). Damn, that's crazy.

So now it's dinner time. Pizza was calling my name since my craving late last night. So, I finally caved and I must say that it was so yummy.

Our last stop on the money train was Target. I won't bore you with all the details on that purchase because it's not that interesting (and because I am so tired). I think we were in that store for at least three days because all four of us were having melt downs by the time we made it through the check out. lol

Now I'm home. I should be getting stuff ready for us to go to a wedding tomorrow but here I am.......blogging in this hot-ass office. That's just one more quirk about me, I like to talk too much.

Now that I've had hours of therapy I can honestly say that the tightness in my chest is gone. I can breath again (for now). I think that I'll sleep like a baby too. So, was it worth it? Hellzzzzzzzzz yeah baby!
