Wow! What a wedding!
Two words........ Open Bar.
Damn, I totally over did it but had a blast while I was at it! I haven't drank that much in YEARS.
I'll get back to the drinking in a minute. Let me just take a minute to say that the wedding was absolutely beautiful. Quinn & Lance did a great job. They both looked like they should be models in one of those wedding magazines. Of course, I was on the verge of tears during the ceremony because ALL weddings bring back memories of my wedding. The excitement of finally joining your life forever with the one you love. *sigh*
After the wedding we headed to the reception at the country club. Michael and I immediately grabbed drinks to help relax us and prep us for any spectacle his mother may create. She was, as predicted by me earlier, "three sheets to the wind" well before she made it to the reception. I could hear her drunken slurred speech as she spoke to the friends & neighbors that greeted her upon her arrival at the event. She made a little bit of a scene because she couldn't find a seat, so I think that she pissed off some of the family early on. I spotted my BIL and his wife wondering around close to my MIL for a few minutes but apparently 15-20 minutes of reception was all they had time for because they slipped out the door without even stopping by to say "hi" to us. Thankfully the rest of the outlaws left shortly after, so we were FREE to have a great time! Woo Hoo!
This is where I kind of let myself have TOO much fun. lol Actually quite a few people there had the same philosophy. At one point during the night I looked out on the dance floor to see the grooms father trapped between two shirtless men that seemed to have been trained by the Roxbury Guys from SNL. The half-naked "boys" thrashed back and forth around Lance's dad until they all fell in a man pile on the floor.
Anyway, back to me, I just kept drinking and drinking and drinking. My mixed drink of choice was a "sea breeze" or a version of that drink. It was vodka, orange juice & cranberry juice. It was YUMMY and let me tell you one thing, they were NOT stingy with the vodka. I totally lost count after five drinks but I will say I had several more. I don't normally drink like that. I usually stop after I start feeling good. Man, I wish that I would have stopped because I am so sick today. Blech. I even passed out in all my clothes & make up last night.
Yes, you heard that correctly. I passed out. I don't think I've done that since college. lol
No throwing up today but I definitely have a headache, stomach ache, and oddly enough I feel like I broke my foot dancing last night.
Was it worth it?
Absolutely. I'd do it all over again. I'll never get another chance to live this life, so I want to experience it all. Drinking occassionally & the consequences that come with it are just another moment to cherish.
