Back home at last.

This is my 100th post this year! Wow!

What a week it has been!

I went back down to pick up Michael on Thursday night, so he could have lunch in VA on Friday. He was totally craving hot dogs after the picture I sent him of Mallory eating a hot dog at his favorite hot dog place. lol

Friday.
We ate hot dogs for lunch and then headed over to the festival to watch a presentation about mammals. After that we went back to my moms house to let the kids swim while Michael and I rested a little. At 5 pm we headed to Cracker Barrel for a special birthday dinner for my grandmother (my mom's mom). All my grandmother's sisters were there along with various other family members. She was totally surprised and happy to see everyone. Once we were stuffed Michael and I took the kids back to mom's for bedtime. We had them asleep by 9pm, so we headed down to the festival to listen to the beach music. The Chairmen of the Board were playing! I was in heaven. I LOVE beach music.

You may think that at 10:30pm (after the concert) that we'd head to bed but you'd be wrong. Michael was having his 20 yr high school reunion this weekend and a few people were meeting up at a local bar for a few drinks. Of course, we couldn't pass on drinks & reconnecting, so off we went. We didn't head home until the bar was closing around 2am.

Saturday.
After waking up around 10 am, we all got ready for the class of '89 lunch gathering at the rec. center. We ate hot dogs and hamburgers while shooting the breeze with Michael's old classmates. No one stayed long. It was just a quick lunch that included kids for the people that couldn't make it to the real gathering later that night.

I needed a shirt to go with the black capri's I was going to wear that night. I dropped off Michael & the kids at my mom's house while I went shopping for one. Hours later I came home with a cute green top with black trim. We quickly ate dinner and got dressed. Then we headed off to the Club for more class of '89 fun!

At the Club, I drank a couple margaritas and caught up with the "kids" that had been two grades ahead of me in school. I remembered most of them, but from time to time Michael would have to point people out to me. I watched others dance. My foot still hurts too bad from the wedding and I saw the pictures from the last reunion (I have no intention of seeing another picture of me dancing at the next reunion. lol). I also watched a series of intense games of cornhole out on the balcony overlooking the golf course. lol Stephan was using his special "double clutch" motion to help him toss the bean bags. It was hilarious. My friend Tracy's hubby (donnie) was so much fun to pick on. The two of us had him acting silly by talking dirty. It was so funny. I'm sure if he hadn't been so drunk, we wouldn't have been able to have as much fun with him.

At midnight the club kicked us out so some of us headed to the "Turn" for more drinking and fun. Unfortunately the "Turn" had a band that night so we had to pay a cover charge just to go in for the two more hours they were open. While there I ran into several more old friends that I hadn't seen in ages. Nancy B. was bartending there. She had been the bartender at the Ramada Inn Michael and I worked at when we first started dating. I also ran into Sherry S. that I use to go to school with. She was torn up, stumbling drunk. I was surprised to see her so out of it. 2am arrived sooner that I expected and we all headed to our cars/vans to go home. Once out of the bar, our friend's Chris & Andy L. (Chris is short for Christine) found Opie (aka Chris W.) passed out standing up leaning on their van. They had to get his buddies out of the bar to grab him up and take him home. I just now realized that I don't think I've ever seen Opie sober.

After all that Michael and I hit the bed hard. We were exhausted.

Sunday.
Because of our late night, we got a late start on this day. We had intended to go canoeing or fishing but it was so late in the day when we finally got out of bed that we didn't even feel like bothering with it. Instead I let the kids swim in the pool again and just worked on doing some laundry. I like to come home with clean clothes instead of dirty ones.

My mom grilled steaks out on the grill for dinner. YUM! We also had mac-n-cheese, baked potatos, rolls, & corn on the cob. In other words........CARBS! Everything was so tastey and I ate way too much. I love me some comfort foods. lol After dinner Michael put the kids to bed. They were asleep by 9 pm, so the two of us headed to the theater to watch Transformers 2. It was just an OK movie. Not like the first one. Now that movie I could have watched over and over again.

Monday.
Today was a day to pack up and get ready to leave. Michael had to work at a bank close by, so we had to wait for him to get off work before we could hit the road. During the day, we made snow cones and the kids went swimming. After 5 pm, we ate dinner with mom and loaded the car. We were on the road late but had gotten the kids ready for bed prior to leaving mom's house. All they had to do once we were home was pee and get back in bed.

Man, I'm tired. I think I'll hit the bed soon too.
