Just like years past, it was Father's Day fishing today. I love this tradition.
After searching for the perfect spot and maneuvering through weeds past my head, we found just the place we were looking for. A small beach area with a few rocks to stand on. This year fishing was a little different than years past because the area around the river had tons of rain. The water was icy cold, so muddy you couldn't see a thing and moving very swiftly. We like to fish with spinners and the river conditions were making it difficult on us. We ended up scrapping fishing after an hour of fighting the current and ZERO bites. The kids didn't mind, they just focused on gathering water bugs and splashing in the water.
Once we'd had enough, the kids reluctantly walked the trails back with us to our car, careful not to step in any horse poop. We all made it to the van (poop-free) and put on some dry clothes, then we headed back to my moms house.
At mom's house we showered off all the river mud and then gave out Father's Day cards & gifts. After dinner Michael and I drove back to our house, leaving the young'uns with my mom for the night. We're home now and getting ready for bed. Good Night blog.
