Yesterday was great but it started out kind of funky. The one thing I had dreamed of doing, was hanging out at the pool most of the day. I didn't want to go anywhere or do much of anything else. Around 1:30pm I head over to our community pool to see if it was open, I see a sign on the gate saying that the pool was closed. Basically some drunk teenager stole her parents car and drove over the pool pump & fence. No pool pump, No pool. That made me very upset. Thankfully Michael reminded me of a small waterpark that is part of my gym membership. So, I called and found out the hours they were open and we headed over there. It was wonderful just to sit in the sun with my feet in the water and read. We stayed a couple hours and then headed back home where Michael proceeded to prepare the most wonderful meal. He even plated and served me first. FIRST! I can't remember the last time I got my plate first. Most days, everyone else is halfway through with their plates before I even get to sit down.
Today was the first day of swim lessons. Both kids seem like they need a refresher because they are not swimming half as good as they did last summer. However, Mallory was the only one in the preschool time slot that could "swim" without a float on, so they moved her to the older kid's time slot. So now I have both kids going at the same time and I get to finish up 45 minutes earlier. Woo Hoo!
After swim lessons I worked out at the gym. 35 minutes on the elliptical, 20 minutes on the rowing machine and a couple minutes of ab work. By the time I was finished we were all hungry. The kids begged for lunch at Jason's Deli and I caved. It sounded so yummy. How could I say no? The three of us ate off the salad bar and then I surprised them by taking them to Bruster's ice cream for a sweet treat.
I've had a couple of the nicest days. I'm so happy for the distractions from my stresses.
